SUMMARY:Vitas Merritt Island Sewing Group
DESCRIPTION:This social group meets twice a month to make comfort items for Vitas’ patients.  Some ladies crochet\, some knit and some sew.  There are a variety of support projects to work on. Projects include making Memory Bears for caregivers of Vitas patients\, Military Bears for veterans\, warm hats\, booties\, and lap robes as well as walker bags\, all purpose bags\, bed rail covers\, clothing protectors and other items as requested.  It is a time of sharing of talents and self! \nIn accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and Section 286.26\, Florida Statutes\, persons needing special accommodations to participate in this presentation should contact the Sunflower House at (321) 452–4341 at least 7 days prior to the meeting.

SUMMARY:Adoptable Pets by Humane Society
DESCRIPTION:The Central Brevard Humane Society will bring shelter dogs and cats available for adoption\, merchandise and fun educational information about responsible pet ownership. Donations of pet supplies will be accepted during the event for the homeless animals at the shelter in Cocoa and their Merritt Island Adoption Center\, located at 155 Pioneer Road on Merritt Island. \nProceeds from this event will help to raise awareness and financial support for the “unwanted and abandoned” pets that visit the Humane Society each year\, who need a safe and loving “forever” home. \nFor more information\, contact the Central Brevard Humane Society at (321) 636-3343.
